Hump Day 1.17.2007

Really? Do I really need to explain the anniversary on this one? Let’s just say, give me the right setting, a little take out food, a barely furnished apartment, a big brown dog, and the guy I met two nights prior in 2007…

We watched American Idol. For my very first time. I definitely mentioned that part in yesterday’s post. I couldn’t bring myself to link anything American Idol *shudder* so instead is the Haim song I like the most right now. It sort of works with the memory theme, right?

In case you are just tuning in, I’m telling the story of a very life changing week. It started with meeting a guy at a bar on a Monday, back in 2007. Not to give too much away but the timeline is a Monday to Monday string of events.

Some days were less interesting. Like Wednesday. It was a very regular day, I think. Except that it formally counts as “our first date” being that I went over to Aaron’s barely furnished apartment and we watched American Idol and I met the Moosehead. He was a hell of a dog. Before AI we took the Moose up to Alamo Square dog park. We also hit up Bar 861 on Divisadero for happy hour. I think this was all the same day. Regardless, it has become a conflated memory of a date.

What I can tell you concretely, this was the day that I wrote this to my best friend:
“I met such a cute guy last night- this is his myspace pic. And he already called and we’re watching american idol and eating dinner tonight smile emoticon hooray!”

Oh wait, so I guess I watched American Idol on Tuesday? Oops. Must change the time line.
To be cont.

12.18.14 fool’s gold

Remember my love of Goodwill? If no, here is why- the middle wide ribbed cuff that I am wearing today. I bought it and it looked like this:

Can you see that? Here’s the closeup:

Hideous, right? Some numnuts splatter painted a cuff bracelet with ugly colors of acrylic paint. But, I’m proud to say, I saw the potential. The little chips showed something shine-y and for a few frantic moments I thought I’d found gold. GOLD! I freaked out, then soaked, scrubbed, and chipped at the paint. Despite the top photo with the jewelry cleaner this was mostly accomplished with my finger nails. I am a classy dame.

Alas, no gold. The easy test was holding a magnet up to it. Gold is not magnetic, brass and other metals are. But whatevs. Look how gorgeous it is, regardless of the material.

Yay me!
Today’s bangles are: Astrologie from my honey, the Angela Cummings bangle that was a gift from my dad to my mom, my Goodwill find, and a silver Tiffany’s woven looking bracelet.

12.2.14 life questions

IMG_3151.JPG
It’s raining in SF and I find myself in one of those days of profoundly undeep thoughts that I should probably keep to myself, but hey! This is my blog! And we’re all friends, so here goes some of my general life questions- if you have an answer to any, please let me know.

-I accidentally wore a shirt with a food splotch on the chest, will people realize that I put it on this way? Or will they assume the splotch occurred after I left the house? Can I do this same “trick” with those tights of mine with the pattern I like so much that now have a run in them?
-Somewhat related, isn’t it rather redundant to shower on a rainy day?
-Since I didn’t walk to work, how can I trick my UP into logging enough steps for me to hit my step goal? Or must I run on the treadmill two times today?
-Should I dip this feather bangle in blue enamel?

Insight, anyone?

Today’s bangles- the Angela Cummings bracelet from my dad to my mom that is now mine, my Jawbone UP I’m hoping to trick, feather bangle (better in blue? Yay or nay), my mom’s Route de Corse ID bracelet.
