Me Me Me ME!

#16 VERY GIFTED : GIFT IDEAS

The Grand Finale
Gift ideas for:
*my doppelganger

Something that I’ve realized lately, thru the world of WordPress, is that we all have very unique tastes. Duh, you all say. I CAN HEAR YOU!!! So shhhhh. Stop drinking that hot toddy, Margaret, you add. And I make a lip zipping motion in reply. I think I’m catching a cold you guys! Which is not acceptable. First of all, I don’t get sick. Second of all, I have nothing but work here on out until that fat guy wiggles down all of your chimneys. So I can’t afford to be sick. Like literally. If I want to pay my mortgage I cannot be sick this XMas season.

BACK ON TOPIC! Unique tastes abound. It’s fascinating. I feel like I’m peeping into your lives and learning about the world. (Too much hot toddy yet?)

Uhhhhhh what?

This is my last Christmas gift idea list, you all are special snowflakes, but we have some crossover interests folks. So this is the gift list for my doppelganger slash the crossover interests with you all.

What are our crossover interests? You and me in our special relationship called WordPress? Crafts. Pop Culture. Fashion. IVF. Poetry. Art. Humor. And the Walking Dead. Sounds about right, right? Oh wait. Let’s add in cute animals.

So first gift idea of the night, in reverse order. CUTE ANIMALS. For all you who love cute animals. You know, I am almost buzzed enough to write all y’all. I’m so ashamed.
Rhino
Do you guys even realize how cute baby rhinos are? It’s ridonkulous. After watching Nat Geo for three hours, I totally want this rhino ring.

Now the Walking Dead? I’ve got to nod to my favs Sup Darling, Dora da bomb (oh yeah I AM that 90s), and Susan tho all these ladies also cross into the pop culture list.
mcqueen
Nobody does skulls like Steve McQueen.

How do you figure out humor in jewelry? Should I be looking for a punch line charm? Want to hear (or read) the joke I wrote the other day? What do you call it when Emilia snow plows the street? A Toes Drift. You would be cracking up like crazy if you knew who Emilia is.
Necklace
All I know is you search “joke” on Luis Via Roma and you find this necklace. HA HA HA. This necklace is so funny, amirite?

For the art and poetry themes and some of the best reading ever I am channeling Andre, Susan Elizabeth, and Spanish Woods all who have themes of surroundings and environment running thru their works.
seedlings
I don’t know, but these seedlings by Anita Van Doorn seem relevent.

Oh, where was I? Fashion, IVF, pop culture? Isn’t that the definition of ‘jewelry’? Sometimes I feel deep. Like super deep. What is the meaning of fashion, IVF, pop culture? I think we can hit that trifecta with a little Aliens jewelry.
Aliens embryo necklace
BOOM! Aliens embryo necklace DOOD. I wish it were Predator embryo. I like Predator so much more than Aliens.

I don’t even know what is left in my themes. It’s late. The gift ideas have fled. I sit here at my WordPress Dashboard drinking my toddy and not watching Californication. I’d like to wish you a happy holiday and for you to know how much I have enjoyed reading everybody’s writings. All y’all are fascinating. And I have appreciated the various comments and likes on my silly little blog these past couple of months. You don’t even know how much it has meant to me. BIG SLOPPY REINDEER KISSES FROM ME TO YOU!

xoxoxox Margaret

Oh and it’s not tooo late to buy something from my real life store, Bath Sense.

Gamble Gamble

#9 VERY GIFTED: GIFT IDEAS

Gift ideas for the Gambler:
*Roulette
*Craps
*Poker

Damas y Cabelleros, you want to play a game? Invite me; I know all the games. Except bridge, that is. But so I have a special affinity in my heart for the gamblers of the world.
Rouge et Noir
What do you give the gambler besides your lucky rabbit’s foot? How about something from their game of choice? Robert Tateossian makes these beautiful roulette wheel cufflinks. But you might want to include a copy of The Gambler as a cautionary tale.
the gambler

Afterall, Dostoyevsky was a fan of the Rouge et Noir and look where he wound up. Siberia. He wound up in Siberia. (I should note, gambling addiction did not send Dostoyevsky to the gulag and he was later released). BUT STILL. GAMBLING —> GULAG. That’s it for my public service messages. Gambling! It can be fun, too!!

lucky dice
If your luck be a lady who loves craps these are the ticket. Plus, they are not real gold! So less likely that your lucky lady will hock them later for gambling dough. She’ll treasure these earrings forever. Or she may throw them in the gutter and curse your name. Whatever! Kate Spade dice earrings will be a hit. Either figuratively or literally.

cards ring
But say your honey is more a card shark and less a dice, umm, donkey (?)… I recommend this Royal Straight ring at Ruby Lane mistakenly identified as a lucky flush. Who are these amateurs? That’s a straight. Flush is all the same suit. Duh almighty. This ring is size 10.5, which fits either a guy or a very large handed lady. You know what they say about the ladies with the large hands, don’t you? I don’t either. Oh well. But rings are easy to resize, that is my point.

So, are you feeling lucky punk? Or inspired? Are you feeling gift giving inspired, punk? Well are ya?

The daily disclaimer: I would be remiss if I didn’t offer the link to my online store… I write these posts for my love of jewelry and gift giving, there’s no sponsors here but ME for MYSELF 😀

For The Love Of Kay

#3 VERY GIFTED: GIFT IDEAS

Gifts for:
*The Soft Core Romance Novel Reader
*The Hello Kitty Lover
*The Patriot

Listen, I do not shop in malls. I don’t know where to find them despite the rumor that they are around. Somewhere. But for me, malls are like Capybaras, I know they exist, people love them, but I just don’t know anything about them. However, as you all know, I watch TONS of TV. And something I see all the time is Kay Jewelers. Every kiss begins with? Kay. Or cock, as my husband insists on saying. That’s him! Not me! I didn’t say that! So to continue my simile, Kay is the bowtie on a Capybara. Or something. So I looked them up. I was curious if they are ethically sourced jewelry. Quelle surprise, they are! They have “extensive policies” in place for the sourcing of the gems, gold, everything.

So Kay Jewelers? Not my usual cup of tea, but this is a gift list and I like a challenge.

First up the blue (? diamonds come that color?) and white diamond, sterling silver heart.
saphire
It’s pretty cheeseball, but there is something sweet about it. I would wear this, I think. But really it’d be suited for an older lady. Maybe a grandmother? Or a lover of Romance Novels, not the explicit kind, mind you, but the Barbara Cartland varietal. Which I swear *cough cough* I know nothing about.
hello kitty
Hello, hello kitty!! I love you. I would give these to my nieces if their ears were pierced. So cute. Is it weird that the Hello Kitty studs are more expensive than the diamond pendant? I think so, too.

Interesting Kay category: patriotic jewelry. Because you only really love your country if you’re wearing a red, white and blue diamond ring? Ok, that does sounds like something I would do. This is where my Mother in Law (and all military moms/wives) and I crossover. Patriotic expression thru jewelry. I think she might wear hers year round whereas I would save mine for the 4th of July, so as to compliment my Babe-raham Lincoln dress. (It’s got hot shirtless presidents all over it, I love it.)
star ring
This *is* the best item in the patriot category, but not necessarily something a MIL would don. So for her, I would go with this flag pendant.
flag

Now you can go ahead and check patriotic Mother in Law, cutie pie niece, and Barbara Cartland fan off the shopping list, you are welcome.

Anniversary tradition

My honey is so wonderful. Not to brag, or anything. Or actually yes, to brag and very much. I don’t know how I found him but we’ve been together for 8 years now and married 3. It feels like no time at all. For a bangle crazy girl like myself (ahem see below)

IMG_2549.JPG (that’s approximately half of my collection 🙀)

…so despite the size of my bangle collection I wear just three rings. My engagement ring, my wedding band, and this special beautiful ring my honey designed.

Here is the original concept painting by Isabella at Hutten Jewelers

IMG_2642.JPG

Flattened out it would look like the infinity symbol, or two rings intersecting. Our tradition is that each year he adds a stone, the little diamonds are for our years before marriage, the colored stones after marriage. With each year, and each gem add on, the two rings meld together more and more to become one. This year’s add is the oval shaped sapphire. It’s very special, and it tickles me to think of my football-loving gear-head husband caring about the design of a piece of jewelry. 💗💘💗

I mean, look at these kids!

IMG_2626.JPG I’m pretty lucky. Happy anniversary, honey, I love you.
